Job summary:
The position plays a critical role in driving business growth and managing client relationships for South Pole You will open up and lead prospect conversations with senior management around climate action credits ( and advisory) services in close collaboration with other teams such as our carbon portfolio and marketing team, to help clients to manage their risks and seize opportunities associated with climate change.
Main responsibilities:
- Proactively and autonomously expand South Pole curated certificates business in your region in line with regional and individual Business development targets, always striving to become a strategic and trusted supplier for the mutual benefit of climate impact in combination with revenue extension.
- Engage in business development activities such as in-person meetings, conferences, events, and webinars, conferences, and summits to represent the company and position South Pole in the region, ensuring sufficient turnover and maintaining and growing the company's market share.
- Build strong long-term relationships with new strategic clients in the designated region;
- Build South Pole’s market position for climate action credits
- Contribute to the design and execution of the regional go-to-market strategy and provide inputs to increase regional market share for climate action business business;
- Provide sales guidance and management to the junior sales team and supervise them where appropriate in client meetings;
- Qualify the market best suited for sales development and growth and build and maintain a sales pipeline 3x your target for curated certificate solutions.;
- Manage complex client meetings with multiple stakeholders, lead complex conversations and contract negotiations, and close big size deals with strategic prospects.
- Excel at communicating across external and internal teams ensuring a smooth client experience and confidence to convince senior directors (internal and external) to take beneficial revenue bringing decisions.
- Partner with the solutions expert teams to define, shape and position our solutions and evaluate the relevance, effectiveness and viability of product/service offerings through customer feedback or market research and proactively inform relevant internal teams.
- Stay on top of climate trends and develop in-depth knowledge of competitors, clients, and market dynamics to better demonstrate the superiority of our climate solutions in terms of quality and credibility attributes and benefits for our clients
- Coach, review and delegate work to lower level professionals and manage a sub-team of junior sales reps, including staff selection, training development, scheduling and ongoing professional development of employees in collaboration with Head of region and HR.
- Represent South Pole in client meetings, at conference and trade shows Share experience and knowledge across teams and across the regions
Requirements:
- Master’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Environmental Science, or a related field; advanced degree preferred. Minimum of 6 years of experience in business development, complex clients interactions, in the related field
- Proven track record of success in sales management roles, preferably within the carbon credits or environmental markets sector
- Strong understanding of corporate climate action, climate strategies, and related areas such as renewable energy, carbon markets, and climate finance.
- Demonstrable transformational leadership ability Demonstrated ability to drive results and exceed financial targets
- Strong strategic thinking and planning skills, with the ability to develop and implement effective sales strategies.
- Excellent leadership and team management abilities, with a focus on mentoring and developing sales talent.
- Able to ensure excellence in delivery, through people
- Strong relationship-building skills, with the ability to engage and influence key clients and stakeholders
- Excellent negotiation skills Data-driven mindset, with the ability to analyze market trends and sales performance metrics
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to represent the company at industry events and meetings
- Comfortable working in a lean organization and rolling up their sleeves to get the job done
- Global mindset and experience working in diverse cultural environments
