Job summary:
The goal of the Junior Associate Consultant is to support international and regional (France and Belgium) consulting projects for corporate clients, focusing on climate strategies and/or compliance with the European Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) and other Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) regulations. This includes a variety of tasks such as research, data analysis, writing deliverables, and occasional proposal development in areas like GHG accounting services, climate change mitigation solutions, and risk assessment.
Main tasks & responsibilities:
- Assist with consulting projects and deliverables for the corporate sector:
o Greenhouse gas (GHG) accounting services: data collection, calculation, analysis, report writing, and disclosure
o Climate change mitigation solutions: decarbonization roadmap design, science-based targets setting
o Climate-related risks and opportunities: risk identification and assessment (qualitative and/or quantitative)
- Manage project information and knowledge according to South Pole’s best practices.
- Occasionally support commercial development by conducting research and creating materials for proposals
Requirements:
Essential -
- End-of-studies internship after a master’s degree, ideally in Environmental Sciences, Engineering, Business, Economics or other sustainability-related disciplines
- Strong interest in environmental sustainability challenges for the corporate sector
- Ability to conduct research and analyze data
- Good written communication skills for contributing to high-quality deliverables
- Fluent in French and English, with strong oral and written skills in both languages
Desirable -
- Analytical skills and mindset
- Proficiency in Google Suite or Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint)
- Knowledge or general awareness of standards, regulations and guidances such as: GHG Protocol; Science Based Targets initiative; Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive; Task Force on Climate-Related Financial Disclosures; etc.
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and proactivity
- Adaptable to a fast-paced international environment
- Good prioritisation and time management skills.
