This position is based in Belgium, where our company operates under the name CO2Logic. CO2Logic has been part of South Pole since 2021, strengthening our capacity to deliver impactful sustainability solutions in the region.
Our Sales & Business Development team works closely with clients to help them identify the right products and solutions to address their sustainability challenges. Whether they are corporate clients or public institutions looking to contribute to climate action beyond their value chain or embark on a comprehensive sustainability journey, we provide tailored solutions that generate lasting impact and help them achieve their ambitions. Job Summary
The Business Development Senior Specialist is responsible for identifying and qualifying new business opportunities in their region. This role involves initiating and building strong relationships with both new and existing clients, understanding their needs, and developing tailor-made solutions. Additionally, the role requires sharing market insights and feedback with the wider sales team to enhance strategic decision-making.
Main tasks & responsibilities:
Create new business opportunities to expand CO2Logic and South Pole’s presence in Belgium, while occasionally supporting the France and Luxembourg markets.
Identify market trends, client needs, and emerging business opportunities.
Assist in refining and implementing the go-to-market strategy for Belgium.
Work closely with the marketing and market insights teams to define customer segments, develop target lists, and execute campaigns.
Provide valuable market feedback to key account managers, practice leads, business line managers, and the marketing team.
Represent CO2Logic & South Pole in client meetings, conferences, and remote engagements.
Collaborate with the marketing team to establish new partnerships and monitor the competitive landscape.
Support the prioritization and coordination of incoming business opportunities.
Contribute to the development of compelling proposals and offers in collaboration with key account management, portfolio teams, product experts, and consultants.
Negotiate commercial agreements with clients and partners, with senior management support for complex deal negotiations and contract development.
Maintain strong client relationships in France through regular communication and high-quality service delivery.
Assist senior sales team members in advancing CO2Logic & South Pole’s thought leadership, services, products, marketing materials, and overall offerings.
Contribute to the sustainable commercial success of the team and the company.
Requirements:
Essential -
A university degree, ideally a Master’s, in sustainable development, environmental management, or a related field, or from a business school.
2-3 years of experience in climate change, sustainability services (e.g., carbon accounting, decarbonization roadmaps, climate risk and opportunities, sustainable finance), or corporate responsibility.
Proven experience in customer relationship management and business development, with a track record of meeting targets and exceeding client expectations.
Strong understanding of business drivers behind corporate climate actions.
Fluency in Dutch and English (both spoken and written) is required; knowledge of French is a plus.
Strong results-driven mindset, action-oriented, with self-direction and a sense of urgency.
Ability to navigate complexity and manage ambiguity effectively.
Experience working in small, agile teams within an international and multicultural environment.
Excellent communication and presentation skills.
Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint (or Google Suite).
