Job summary:

The Senior Market Insight Specialist will develop the market and customer insight models and execute strategies across the globe helping to accelerate climate action. Using your passion for tackling climate change and deep understanding of customer modelling to provide key client insight at the point of need to South Poles distributed sales teams. You will analyse market trends, build predictive behaviour models and help equip the sales team with the knowledge they need to successfully engage clients in quantifiable climate action. In addition you will draw insight from internal data and translate that to key internal stakeholders to support business decision-making. As a key stakeholder of Salesforce, you will act as a superuser and provide direction to increase value from that core customer system. Based in London, Amsterdam or Berlin, you will be joining a high performing and growing marketing team team as its key analyst.

 

Main tasks & responsibilities:

  • Analyse market trends using environmental data, reporting and standards body’s registers and relevant region-specific datasets
  • Extract customer and solution data from South Pole systems to support ongoing development of the Market Segmentation Model and the associated needs and capabilities of each segment
  • Ensure each sales region has the appropriate Prospect Pool to achieve growth targets
  • Develop a Persona model globally to target the appropriate decision makers required for each practice
  • Develop and implement systems of data analytics, using Salesforce as the principal database for storing, analysing and presenting client data 
  • Supervise and create target lists, reports and dashboards for Marketing and Business Development teams
  • Provide reports, presentations and recommendations with explanation of findings to inform business decisions and identify new opportunities
  • Lead a small global team of junior market research assistants

Requirements:

Essential -

  • University degree, ideally in Environmental Sciences, Environmental Engineering, Energy Engineering, Economics, or sustainability-related disciplines 
  • At least 3 years of experience in a market insights or analytics role 
  • Strong understanding of CRM tools (preferably Salesforce) and business analytics tools 
  • Understanding of environmental and climate solutions markets 
  • Ability to come up with solutions to complex problems 
  • Ability to manage time, prioritise tasks and work independently 
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral 
  • Experience working with international teams 
  • Ideally experienced line-managing or supervising individuals or small teams 
  • Excellent oral and written skills in English 
  • National or holder of a valid work permit

Desirable - 

  • Eagerness to grow and learn in an evolving environment 
  • Good planning skills 
  • Ideally proficiency in other data analytics and business intelligence tools such as Tableau, GDS, etc 
  • Diligent, reliable, and proactive 
  • Comfortable operating in a fast-paced international environment 
  • Passion for environmental issues and understanding of sustainability, CSR and related topics
