Job summary:

The Renewable Energy Senior Sourcing Specialist, Southeast Asia will primarily assist the Associate Director of Sourcing, Southeast Asia with the Sourcing of Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs) and carbon credits from renewable energy projects. This role would be focused on business development related to the renewable energy sector in Southeast Asia and supporting other regions globally. Responsibilities would include but not limited to researching new project leads, draft procedural documents, client/project owner follow up including, establishing and negotiating commercial agreements, attending meetings or events relevant to Renewable Energy, undertake data collection for eligibility assessments, financing plans and budgets, as well as due diligence processes. You will undertake activities such as ensuring smooth and eloquent operationalisation of global project sourcing flows, processes, document handling, and database management, as well as coordination with different teams on various tasks and activities. The role is a combination of business development, project analysis, and stakeholder/client engagement. 


Main tasks & responsibilities:

  • Support global project sourcing operations activities for RECs and Renewable Energy related Carbon credits with a focus on Southeast Asia 
  • Ensure that sourcing flows and processes (including documentation and interaction with other teams) is in line with the company guidelines 
  • Manage and maintain global sourcing database, ensuring that information regarding project leads and opportunities are well recorded and updated for both RECs and Carbon Credits 
  • Support coordination and collaboration with other teams within South Pole globally in regards to project leads and opportunities, especially the Renewable Energy Services team and the Southeast Asia Projects team
  • Conduct research relevant to new project leads, project developers, project owners, relevant regulatory regimes/policies in Southeast Asian countries related to RECs and Renewable Energy based carbon credits 
  • Create and negotiate commercial terms with Project Owners Collect data from Project Owners or other third party for due diligence, technical, financial and legal documentation 
  • Where relevant attend meetings/seminars/workshops/events that are strategic for sourcing team activities related to Renewable energy and RECs

Requirements:

  • University degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Economics, Business Administration, Law, or any other relevant discipline, ideally a Masters Degree or above 
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience working in the renewable energy sector 
  • Experience and interest Client Management and networking — people skills 
  • Experience in project identification and screening Demonstrated commercial skills and business acumen 
  • Comfortable working with an international and multicultural teams 
  • Native or fluent in English language skills, both oral and written 
  • Basic knowledge of carbon credits, RECs and related international voluntary standards
