Job summary:
The purpose of this role is to facilitate and drive the development of products within Climate Solutions. Based on your solid expertise you will create, operate and continuously improve solution development programmes that allow our teams to quickly and effectively validate, pilot and scale their business ideas.
This role will ensure South Pole’s Climate Solutions value proposition remains cutting edge and expands to new segments and markets. It is best suited to a product development professional with a strong entrepreneurial mindset and drive. You understand the power of facilitation, culture and evidence-based innovation to unleash the creative potential in teams at scale and find fulfilment in applying this to empower impactful climate action.
Main tasks & responsibilities:
- Create, operate and improve the Climate Solutions development programmes to meet the needs of customers and based on the demand of internal experts.
- Measure the effectiveness of the process and progress of innovation projects and provide tangible coaching to the development teams to improve their learning velocity
- Leverage and expand your global network of top experts, VCs and leading players you perform targeted scouting
- As the owner of trend analysis as well as our idea graveyard - you'll design a learning environment to challenge both management and the development teams with lessons learnt as well as an outside-in perspective, especially if counter-intuitive
- You use this knowledge to analyse the market size for white spots. You conduct the initial idea validation & testing with experts and pitch & initiate new venture opportunities for the leadership team
- Ensure a fluid collaboration with the Digital Innovation team to align on how we ideate, prioritise, facilitate, track and staff development projects
- Continuously develop your own capabilities to ensure you always have the best-in-class and current knowledge of innovation tools
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in business or engineering, and a Master's is a plus
- Several years of experience in an operational role in sales, marketing, strategy/consulting or product management in a start-up or fast-growth environment
- Successfully lead multi-stakeholder, cross-functional and international projects
- You are able to listen & empathise. You have previously successfully applied this to empower teams, creating ownership, effective learning environments and a thriving innovation culture
- You live and breathe digital - you understand the power of digital and its principles - from the basics of coding, data management, integration of software products
- Ability to lead, manage and implement multiple projects in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment
- Eagerness to improve the way climate action is executed, relentlessly search for ways to improve
- Proven experience and success in applying innovation, research and agile tools (Design Thinking, Service Design, Scrum, Kanban, Lean Startup, Customer Development, rapid preto and prototyping, Web2 and Web3 Solution Development & Business modelling)
- Ability to effectively work across distributed (virtual) teams. Our ideal candidate thrives on peer interaction and knows how to strike the balance between ideation and committing to and developing provocative content
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Fluent English and a second language is a bonus
