Our Portfolio Management team oversees and develops business for the sale and trading of carbon credits and Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs). By working collaboratively with both our internal Sales and Projects teams, we play a crucial role in balancing the demand and supply of certificates, in order to best match the needs of our clients with our sourcing capabilities. Job summary:

The goal of the Data Analyst is to collect and analyse data to guide company decision making. You will mainly support the portfolio team with projects analysis related to South Poles business data and the broader carbon market data. You will also be expected to help build and maintain tools and processes which facilitate data analytics and related processes at South Pole.

Main tasks & responsibilities:

  • Assist on data analytics projects for the carbon portfolio team, including data collection, processing, storage, delivery, explanation and communication
  • Support in the development and maintenance of tools and processes to enhance the analytics capabilities of the team
  • Assist in evaluating business problems and processes, anticipating requirements, uncovering areas for improvement, and developing and implementing solutions
  • Create high quality and engaging data visualisations that effectively communicate sizeable complex data sets to key internal stakeholders
  • Manage data and analytics resources for team members, including access to external third party reports and studies
  • Conduct research on the latest developments in carbon markets and how these developments influence the analytics landscape for South Pole
  • Explore and suggest new tools and methods to achieve maximal efficiency in data collection, processing and analysis
  • Guide other team members in their use of analytical tools and techniques



  • University Degree in a quantitative field ideally having conducted primary research 
  • Robust data analysis & statistics skills
  • 1-2 years of experience in an analytics role
  • Demonstrated experience using Python or R programming for data projects. 
  • Experience with SQL
  • Skilled in using Business Intelligence tools such as Tableau
  • Good communication and collaboration skills with team members and other relevant stakeholders
  • Ability to manage projects in a multi-stakeholder and multi-geographies context
  • Experience using Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets
  • Strong data visualisation skills


  • Familiar with Extract,Transform, Load processes (ETL)
  • Experience with data modeling
  • Knowledge of advanced statistical methods such as machine learning
  • Understanding of cloud based data infrastructure
  • Experience with Google App Script programming
  • Experience working within carbon markets or the sustainability sector
