Job summary:

As a student intern, you will work within our Digital Innovation team with a focus on the application of geospatial methodologies and AI to develop and validate the progress of our projects. This includes the identification of proper databases, preprocessing of spatial data, production of training and validation datasets and accuracy assessments. You will report directly to the Innovation Lab leader in Colombia and will work closely with all the Geo.AI experts. You will support all the activities related to Geo.AI developments related to digital MRV. Supporting the Geo.AI developments for digital MRV will motivate strategic and critical thinking in your professional career, hands-on experience with training advanced AI pipelines and will contribute to the business goals of the Company. The internship lasts six months from mid to the end of 2021.

 Main tasks & responsibilities: 

  • Understand the framework that drives the digital MRV and the needs and challenges of the market that push currently for new Geo. AI developments
  • Support the labelling creation by conducting geospatial processing of different regions in the world
  • The development of all the requirements related to Geo.AI. Specific tasks will be defined jointly with the Innovation Lab Leader and may include data collection and processing, training of algorithms and monitoring of the latest development in the field.



  • Undergraduate student in forest engineering, environmental sciences or similar
  • Knowledge about Geographical Information systems
  • Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to find commonalities among large amounts of information, and structure them
  • Effective written and spoken communication
  • Ability to function independently and strong organizational skills with attention to details, as well as willingness to receive indications and advance in specific assigned tasks
  • Be dynamic, energetic, entrepreneurial and a proactive problem solver with a special ability to deal with new, difficult and strange technical situations, and to avoid traditional and rigid work environments in order to promote significant professional changes


  • Oral and writing skills in English
  • Knowledge in sustainability, carbon markets, biodiversity, environmental assessment or related fields is a plus
  • Monitoring, Reporting and Verification processes for environmental markets
