The Fund Management team is responsible for developing and managing sustainable impact funds, as well as other facilities, vehicles and platforms for investments in climate action. Our scope of expertise covers a variety of topics related to sustainable land-use, low-carbon energy, climate-smart cities and/or clean technology, to name just a few. Job summary:

As an Intern, Public Funding, you will support our Director Public Sector EU in general tasks related to the organisation of the fundraising process, including research on public funding opportunities and related policies, and input to draft papers, proposals and presentations. You will also be a great support in the administrative work with databases on the fundraising process. To further strengthen our team, we are currently looking to recruit a highly motivated and dedicated Intern to support the Innovation Unit for at least 4 months. 


Main tasks & responsibilities:

Conducting online research into public grant funding opportunities:

  • Research/screening on public funding programmes: R&D, Innovation focus
  • Research/screening on strong partners for funding programmes in different countries

Updating databases and spreadsheets on public sector funding:

  • Adding donor and partner information, contacts and exchange to Salesforce
  • Support in updating/compiling presentations, reference lists, fact sheets, qualification statements

Writing first drafts for relevant documents:

  • Providing contributions to proposals and expressions of interest
  • Drafting of fact sheets, qualification statements and other documents relevant for the engagement with governments

Requirements:

  • Knowledge/studies in climate, biodiversity, environmental topics and/or policy (completed B.Sc.)
  • Excellent research skills, research experience and attention to detail
  • Efficient and effective at information gathering, using a range of sources
  • Experience using Salesforce and/or other CRM system
  • Familiarity with computer systems, databases and standard applications (G-Suite)
  • Interest in climate and biodiversity policy and in government’s funding streams
  • Excellent English writing skills
  • Knowledge/background with German or UK governments (in the field of climate/environment) is an advantage
