Job summary:

In this role you will support all operations within the Projects & Markets (P&M) business line. You will work in a diverse and international unit engaged directly with business line directors and team leads across the globe. Reporting to the P&M Head of Operations, you will be given ownership of specific operational topics and support transformational business projects enabling more efficient and scalable processes. You will ensure that all projects assigned to you and your team are implemented as agreed upon, while adhering to a high standard of quality and committed timeline, milestones, and deliverables. You will be responsible for managing one or more operations specialists/assistants that will provide support to your own tasks but will be available to support the wider P&M operations team. Being based in Colombia, one of South Pole’s largest markets, you will have a primary focal point and act as operations lead to engage and support the P&M teams based there. This is a fast paced role that requires cross company collaboration, multi-tasking and prioritization.  


Main tasks & responsibilities:

  • Continuously analyse and improve processes and tools to make them more efficient, user-friendly, and accessible 
  • Work with business line directors and team leads to address operational needs and develop new processes 
  • Monitor and review process implementation and adoption, collect feedback and reinforce by providing further training when needed 
  • Conduct onboarding for new P&M team members and implement in coordination with HR 
  • Be the primary point of contact for P&M operations within Colombia and the LatAm and NAM regions 
  • Coordinate and manage a support function to support on all operational issues, such as procedural issues, questions on company policies, support with recruitment, legal checks, approvals, etc. 
  • Act as a go-to person for questions by the team on processes and internal knowledge management 
  • Perform data management and analysis to support communication and reporting on activities, resource management and future opportunities in coordination with the Data Lab team 
  • Act as a bridge towards other units including Corporate Services and among the P&M teams 
  • Develop, optimize and implement knowledge management tools, processes and procedures (Drive, internal project management tool, etc) 
  • Support the management of the Project Development & Sourcing function including time, budget and milestone controls 
  • Contribute to global process and policy improvements in collaboration with other Corporate Services teams in order to improve knowledge management at South Pole

Requirements:

Essential:

  • A university degree, ideally in Business Administration, Political Science, Environmental Sciences, Sustainability, or related disciplines.
  • Relevant work experience (5-7 years) in operations and administration. 
  • Experience in situations where attention to detail was required. 
  • Experience in working in small teams, ideally within an international and multicultural context. 
  • Advanced skills with the use of the MS Office Suite, Google Drive, IT platforms and technologies. 
  • A proactive, diligent and independent approach. 
  • Strong organisational skills: ability to multitask, focus and prioritise. 
  • Excellent personal relationships, enjoy working with and supporting others. 
  • Results-driven, with a strong focus on process optimisation and continuous improvement
  • Fluency in Spanish & excellent oral and written skills in English. 
  • Good people manager, with experience minimum 1-2 years in managing a small team.

Desirable: 

  • Experience with formatting documents and using styles.
  • Comfortable operating in a fast-paced international environment. 
  • Good prioritisation and time management skills. 
  • Strong familiarity with carbon markets and environmental asset management 
  • Diligent, reliable and proactive.
