Job summary:

Reporting to the Director of Global Communications, the Senior Communications Specialist supports all communications needs for the Climate Investments business line to ensure that key messages are delivered to stakeholders in a clear, concise and timely manner, according to the highest standards of quality. You will play an active role in drafting and/or reviewing written communications by the South Pole Climate Investments team, supporting the communications plans of the individual funds and/or platforms, providing communication suggestions for clients as needed, as well as drafting content for websites, social media, pitches and powerpoint presentations by management.

 Main tasks & responsibilities:

  • Provide communications for South Pole’s F&P business line, ensuring that key messages on climate action and climate funds are delivered in a clear, concise, engaging and inspiring way, using a high impact writing style and format
  • Draft content for social media and websites for clients
  • Help develop tailored communications plans for the external funds and/or action platforms that South Pole manages, together with South Pole’s Communications and F&P teams and consistent with values, guiding principles and the business strategy of the specific fund or platform
  • Work collaboratively with the extended communications and marketing teams, and support the Director of Funds & Platforms, and the Director of Global Communications, as needed



  • Education in communications, journalism, climate change or other relevant field
  • Approx. 3-5 years of relevant work experience in fields related to internal/external communications, journalism, editing, marketing, or similar
  • Excellent writing and presentation skills, a good storyteller
  • Experience with social media and web content
  • Excellent powerpoint skills, ability to create engaging presentations
  • Ability to work collaboratively in teams and translate key messages into inspiring and engaging content
  • Excellent organisational, prioritisation and time management skills; ability to work effectively in a fast-paced global organisation
  • Innovative and resourceful mindset, who is able to challenge the status quo, bring new ideas and make creative suggestions to increase the impact of communications
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Fluency in English is a must, any other additional language is a plus
  • Passion for and experience in working with climate change, climate finance or related fields


  • Experience working with organisations or projects that focus on climate change, climate finance, conservation finance, sustainable development and/or impact funds
