Job summary:
Events are a cornerstone of the South Pole marketing and client activation strategy. Working closely with the Event Specialist, you will support in coordination of South Pole’s attendees at COP26.
This is a 6 months internship position requiring an enthusiastic and dynamic young professional, who ideally has experience in PR, sustainability and event management. You are passionate about helping to save the climate as part of your daily work.
Main tasks & responsibilities:
- Coordinate South Pole’s presence at COP26
- Secure speaking opportunities for South Pole speakers at COP26
- Support the preparation of content-based and visual materials to enhance South Pole’s participation at COP26
- Support travel arrangements to COP26
- Pre- and post-event communication to all relevant stakeholders, including support for mailings and website content management
- Assist with local event organisation (on-site registration, A&V support etc.)
- Partnership management and coordination
- Support in various other communications task if needed
Requirements:
- Degree in Marketing or Communications, or equivalent
- Fluent in English is a must ○ Experience with planning and organisation of events is a plus
- Versatile storyteller with excellent copywriting skills both in English Understanding of web-based content management systems, e.g. GoToWebinar, WordPress or Drupal, and social media best practices
- Outstanding organisation, planning and time management skills
- Possesses precise attention to detail when preparing or editing text
- A self-starter who can work independently but also as part of an interdisciplinary, globally dispersed team
- Passion for environmental issues and understanding of sustainability, Climate Policy, the Voluntary Carbon Market and related topics
- National, or holder of a valid required work visa
