Our Portfolio Management team oversees and develops business for the sale and trading of carbon credits and Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs). By working collaboratively with both our internal Sales and Projects teams, we play a crucial role in balancing the demand and supply of certificates, in order to best match the needs of our clients with our sourcing capabilities. Job summary:
The goal of the Renewable Energy Portfolio Specialist is to support the development of solutions in renewable energy markets around the world and manage the administrative work around the offering and sales process. You will support colleagues who work on commercial agreements with project developers, retailers, intermediaries and corporate consumers active in voluntary renewable energy markets. If you are an enthusiastic and dynamic professional with a commercial mindset, relevant experience in renewable energy or sustainability solutions and you have a strong taste for administrative tasks, then we are looking for you!
Main tasks & responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Projects & Markets Team to optimise the delivery of projects.
- Overlook the full administrative management system of Energy Attribute Certificates (EACs). This includes coordinating the purchase contracts, managing incoming deliveries in coordination with the registries specialist and updating deliveries in South Pole’s internal system.
- Manage renewable energy certificate requests from our key account management team.
- Advise clients and our key account management team on EACs and reporting standards globally.
- Provide information about products, projects and processes to clients and staff to support sales and marketing activities.
- Manage and enhance systems for project information capture, storage and internal dissemination.
- Ability to conduct research tasks, analyse and summarise data
- Oversee and work on audits of quality label audits such as Gold Power or Eko Energy.
Requirements:
Essential -
- A university degree, ideally in topics such as energy markets, engineering, business management, environmental or sustainability related disciplines.
- Minimum 1 year work experience in energy trading, energy procurement, renewable energy or sustainability.
- Understanding of renewable energy challenges in multinational companies.
- Commercial skills, affinity and good business sense to be able to identify and seize opportunities in a challenging and competitive market environment.
- Ability to develop administrative processes and improve current processes in coordination with different stakeholders.
- Ability to interact effectively with clients, collaborators or other relevant stakeholders.
- Autonomous yet collaborative approach to work.
- Excellent oral and written skills in English.
Desirable -
- Advanced skills in Google Suite applications, MS Word and Excel.
- Understanding of the EACs markets.
- Experience working for a utility, trading house, corporate, project developer or a consultancy firm.
- Experience in advising on renewable energy sourcing strategies and/or EACs markets.
