Job summary:
Reporting to the Head of Global HR, the Head of Compensation & Benefits is a key member of the HR Management team, and is responsible to drive South Pole’s Compensation and Benefits agenda forward. To do so, you will work closely with the business leaders, the Remuneration Committee, and broader HR team to understand our main business drivers, challenges, and growth ambitions, and propose innovative solutions that will ensure we attract top talent and achieve a high-performing and engaged workforce.
Main tasks & responsibilities:
- Play a leading role in building our global Strategy with a Total Rewards approach, that meets the evolving needs of our growing business
- Recommend appropriate salary benchmarks, as well as build and maintain our internal salary system, in order to ensure we are compensating our employees adequately, in line with our company strategy, values and principles
- Review and update our global job leveling system, and lead job mapping exercises to ensure our compensation practices remain aligned with our organisational growth
- Review and update our policies and processes around promotions and salary increases
- Review and update our year-end annual salary review process, and collaborate closely with our HR Operations team to manage an efficient global roll-out according to established timelines
- Oversee our different incentive schemes and bonus programs, taking a leading role in driving any adjustments of existing schemes or creation of new schemes, as well as preparing bonus calculations and payouts
- Contribute to the creation of a long-term incentive scheme through an employee shares program
- Work closely with HR Business Partners to ensure functional managers and business leaders understand the key drivers of our compensation strategy, and adhere to our key policies and processes
- Create a benefits strategy with guiding principles that underpin our benefits offering
- Manage any adjustments or enhancements to our local and global benefits to ensure we remain a competitive employer in our different markets
- Suggest other comprehensive and inclusive Total Rewards solutions that drive talent attraction, retention, engagement and high-performance
- Contribute to the selection and implementation of our HR systems and specifically the compensation-related module(s)
- Draw analytics and prepare reports and presentation to senior management on Compensation and benefits topics
- Contribute to our talent management, performance management, employee engagement, and culture with valuable inputs from the C&B perspective
- Contribute to or take the lead in other HR projects
Requirements:
Essential -
- University degree in a relevant field of study
- Minimum 10+ years of relevant work experience, including significant experience in a senior Compensation and Benefits role within a corporate organisation
- Solid experience designing and implementing job grading structures, salary systems, bonus schemes, executive compensation, and employee shares programs
- Up-to-date knowledge on the latest trends in Total Rewards management
- Innovative and strategic thinker, who is able to define effective solutions to global challenges
- Good planning and analytical skills, to identify areas of improvement, build an action plan and drive it through to implementation
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with internal and external stakeholders
- Proficient English oral and written mandatory; any other language spoken in any of South Pole’s office locations highly valued
- Valid work authorisation

- Ability and willingness to operate at both strategic and operational level
- Hands-on approach, comfortable operating in a fast-paced dynamic environment
- Experience as a Rewards Consultant for an advisory firm
